Making your school “buzzworthy” means committing to 5 key areas…
- Building a staff committed to engaging with families
- Engaging your staff is key to this work. Tips and feedback will be given to the administrator(s) to improve staff efficacy when working with caregivers. Teaching is a difficult job in itself, and teachers are not often trained in how to work with caregivers to become true partners.
- Creating a welcoming environment
- Does your front office building and staff put its best foot forward? How are phone calls and emails answered? These questions will be addressed and given feedback on so that your school gives off the best impression as possible.
- Purposely planning events to draw families to your campus
- Family events for both learning and fun are common practice at schools. Are you offering the right ones? Offering times during the school day and after school hours that give your families the chance to see their students showcased, honored, and having fun is what caregivers want to see so that they know their children are thriving at your school.
- Engaging caregivers from students’ homes in various ways
- We often give caregivers from students’ homes a “visitor” sticker when they enter campus. Buzzworthy wants your families to feel a part of the school and not like visitors. We can help you give them opportunities to volunteer, come to enjoy fun with their children, and ways to give meaningful feedback.
- Telling everyone you love your school through branding, communications, and a focus on your mission and vision
- It’s hard to brag about ourselves… but we need to. School choice is more and more a part of our culture, and you need to stand out! Signing your own praises will be highlighted and encouraged so that your community starts hearing about you often!
